TORONTO — Leonard Langat retained the men’s title at the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sunday, October 18, while fellow Kenyan Leah Jeruto won the women’s race, according to TorontoToday’s race-day report.

Langat completed the 42.2-kilometre race in 2:06:51. Jeruto finished in 2:21:19.

Canadian half-marathon victories

Canada’s Dylan Alick won the men’s half-marathon in 1:03:49, and Teagan Robertson took the women’s title in 1:13:58, TorontoToday reported.

The organizer’s official schedule placed the marathon and half-marathon starts at 8 a.m. Sunday, following Saturday’s 5K event.

A successful title defence

In its September 10 preview, the race organizer said Langat had won the 2025 marathon in 2:08:04 amid strong winds. His reported 2026 winning time was 73 seconds faster.

The same preview put his personal best at 2:05:26, set in Cape Town in May, and the Toronto course record at 2:05:00. Sunday’s reported time was therefore a successful defence rather than a course-record performance.

This report covers the race winners. It does not establish Canadian marathon championship placings or a complete final classification.
