HAMILTON — Police are looking for one suspect after two businesses on Fennell Avenue East were robbed about 30 minutes apart Saturday night.

Hamilton Police Service said the first robbery happened at approximately 8:20 p.m. on October 10, when a man entered a pizza restaurant carrying what appeared to be a handgun and demanded cash from the register.

About half an hour later, police say a man carrying what appeared to be a handgun entered a cannabis store on the same street and demanded cash and merchandise.

No physical injuries reported

Police said an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise was taken. No physical injuries were reported in either robbery.

Investigators believe the same person was responsible for both incidents. They described the suspect as a white male who wore black clothing and a blue medical mask and carried what appeared to be a black handgun.

That description is an investigative account released by police. No arrest has been announced, and the police belief that the incidents are connected has not been tested in court.
