Canada’s Alimentation Couche-Tard proposed US$7.5 billion to US$8 billion for Cumberland Farms, Reuters reported Saturday, citing Britain’s Times newspaper.

Reuters said neither company immediately answered its requests for comment. The report describes a proposal, not a completed acquisition.
