(St. Petersburg, United States) - Milwaukee won its first World Series championship on October 28, defeating Tampa Bay 4–1 at Tropicana Field to finish the series in five games.

The Brewers had last reached the championship round in 1982. Their title followed a 103-win regular season and an 11–2 postseason, according to Major League Baseball.

Milwaukee recovered from an extra-inning defeat in Game 4 to close out the Rays the following night. The Brewers swept the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series before winning four of five games in the final.

The victory ended the Brewers’ wait for a title, while Tampa Bay remains without a World Series championship.
