The Winnipeg Blue Bombers secured a CFL playoff spot by beating the B.C. Lions 34–10 in Vancouver on Friday, October 23.

The result left Winnipeg at 9–9 and eliminated the Calgary Stampeders, also 9–9, from contention. It is Winnipeg’s tenth straight postseason appearance, The Canadian Press reported.

Trailing 10–3 at halftime, the Bombers scored the game’s final 31 points. Dru Brown came off the bench after Zach Collaros left late in the third quarter and completed all 11 of his passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Brady Oliveira ran for 149 yards and two scores.

B.C., already assured of hosting the October 31 West semifinal, finished 10–8. Winnipeg’s destination depends on Saturday’s Saskatchewan–Edmonton result: a Saskatchewan win sends the Bombers east to Toronto; a Saskatchewan loss sets up another Winnipeg–B.C. game.
