Canada and Ontario announced up to $84.4 million for infrastructure in Windsor and Tecumseh on October 23, tied to residential development-charge reductions.
Windsor’s proposed share is up to $77.6 million for stormwater and road improvements; Tecumseh’s is up to $6.8 million for trunk sanitary sewers.
The federal release describes reductions of 70 per cent in Windsor and 50 per cent in Tecumseh from March 30, 2026, through March 31, 2029.
Funding depends on a Canada–Ontario agreement, further government review and municipal transfer-payment agreements. Municipalities must cover at least 10 per cent of project costs.
These are conditional infrastructure commitments, not confirmation that money has transferred, homes are finished or buyers have received the projected savings.
