TORONTO — Rogers Centre will trade baseball for golf in January, when the Toronto Blue Jays’ home becomes a temporary nine-hole course with tee boxes placed through the stadium seating.

The Michelob Ultra Upper Deck Golf event is scheduled for January 20 through 24, 2027. Players will hit from several levels of the ballpark toward purpose-built greens on the field below.

The official Blue Jays event page says a round will take approximately 90 minutes. Tee times will run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., with clubs supplied at each tee box.

Scoring rewards accuracy from the stands

A shot landing on the designated green counts as par. Missing the green produces a bogey, while finishing inside an inner circle around the pin earns a birdie. A direct hole-in-one remains possible from the elevated hitting locations.

Reuters reported that the route begins on the stadium’s 200 Level and finishes on the 500 Level. Standard tee times start at $125 per person, according to the report. Prices, availability and premium packages can change before the event.

“This unique event reimagines Rogers Centre as a golf destination unlike any other,” Blue Jays executive vice-president Marnie Starkman said in the team’s announcement.

Ballpark becomes a winter venue

The conversion extends Rogers Centre’s use beyond baseball during the Blue Jays’ off-season. The retractable-roof stadium has hosted concerts and other large events, while the golf setup uses the seating bowl’s height to create a series of stadium-sized approach shots.

The official event page advises participants to wear footwear suitable for walking through the stadium and swinging a club. It also says the event supports Stand Up To Cancer as its official charity.

Waitlist access and public ticket-sale timing vary by date. The listing says January 22 through 24 tee times are scheduled for an initial waitlist sale on October 28.
