Free flu vaccination expands to Ontario’s general public on Monday, October 26, for anyone aged six months or older who lives, works or attends school in the province.

The date is confirmed in Hamilton Public Health’s September 29 implementation advisory and Ottawa Public Health’s current eligibility guidance. High-priority groups have already been eligible when vaccine supplies are available; Monday broadens access beyond those groups.

Participating pharmacies and primary-care providers offer vaccinations. Residents should check with their provider before visiting to confirm availability, appointment arrangements and age restrictions. Local public-health clinic options also depend on eligibility and access needs.

Hamilton’s advisory recommends November 1 as the planned start for large-scale clinics to allow sufficient supply. That planning recommendation is distinct from the October 26 start of general eligibility.

The approaching rollout was highlighted in CHCH’s October 22 report. This is a reminder of an announced seasonal schedule, rather than a new vaccine policy announced today.
