OAKVILLE — The Town of Oakville says 14,787 ballots were cast during advance voting for its municipal election, representing 8.35 per cent of the town’s electoral population.

The ten-day advance-voting period ended Sunday, October 18. In its October 19 release, the town said it offered an extra advance-voting day this year and again included the Thanksgiving long weekend.

The figure measures ballots already cast, not support for any candidate or the election’s eventual turnout.

Next opportunity: October 26

Eligible voters who have not voted can use one of 40 locations on Monday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The town says voters may choose any voting location within their own ward; check the voter card or official location finder before leaving.

A missing voter card does not prevent voting: the town directs voters to bring acceptable identification showing their name and qualifying address.
