HAMILTON — Mitchell Chaffee has been recalled from the Hamilton Hammers to the New York Islanders, following a six-point start to his AHL season.
Hamilton’s October 19 announcement confirmed an emergency recall Monday morning. The club credited Chaffee with four goals and two assists through six games and noted that he signed a one-year Islanders contract during the summer.
Tuesday appearance expected, not yet confirmed
The Islanders’ practice report said Chaffee was expected to make his season debut Tuesday against Anaheim. That remained a plan, not a completed appearance.
The Islanders separately announced lower-body injury absences of two to four weeks for Matias Maccelli and four to six weeks for Cal Ritchie.
Hamilton heads out on the road
The Hammers’ announcement lists Toronto on October 21, then Laval on October 23 and 24. Hamilton’s next home date is October 29 against Hartford at TD Coliseum.
This roster move is separate from TNC’s report on Sunday’s Syracuse game.
