(Toronto, Canada) – Toronto police have charged a 78-year-old Scarborough man after an alleged sexual assault of an underage victim at a school open house.
Police said Riaz Ahmed was arrested October 30 and charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference. The allegations have not been proven in court.
The investigation began October 27 in the Guildwood Parkway and Livingston Road area. Police allege a man attended the school open house and sexually assaulted the victim on school premises. They say the victim stopped the assault and the man left on foot.
The arrest announcement updates the October 28 identification appeal. The photographs police released with that earlier appeal are linked to the named arrest update; the man is no longer being described here as an outstanding suspect.
Ahmed is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at 10 Armoury Street on January 27, 2027, at 2 p.m. That is a scheduled appearance, not a reported court outcome.
