(Toronto, Canada) – A second man has been charged in an assault that left a victim with life-threatening injuries in Scarborough, while Toronto police are asking the public to identify two other suspects.

Police announced October 30 that Kadeem Anderson-Binns, 34, of Toronto, had turned himself in that day. He faces charges of aggravated assault and robbery.

Vincent Lewis, 31, of Toronto, was arrested October 5 and faces the same charges. The allegations against both men have not been proven in court.

The investigation concerns an October 3 incident near Eglinton Avenue East and Brimley Road. Police say a person walking alone through a plaza after leaving an establishment was approached and assaulted by three men. A fourth man allegedly struck the victim as they tried to get up.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Friday's announcement does not provide a current medical condition.

The two men pictured in the police appeal remain unidentified and outstanding. They are distinct from the two named accused; no identities have been inferred from the photographs.

Police describe the first outstanding suspect as thin, with a moustache, glasses and a black toque. The second is described as having a medium build, facial hair and long black dreadlocks, and wearing a black Nike sweater and jacket with a black-and-grey crossbody bag.

Anderson-Binns is scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on November 2. That is a scheduled proceeding, not a reported court outcome.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 41 Division at 416-808-4100, quoting case 2026-2081990.
