The Burlington Bay Skyway rehabilitation project site now says work under Ministry of Transportation contract 2024-2011 has been completed.
The notice concerns the Niagara-bound bridge and associated work on the QEW corridor linking Burlington and Hamilton. It does not establish that every construction project or possible closure along the QEW has ended.
Bridge repairs and lighting upgrades
The project covered rehabilitation of the 2.2-kilometre Niagara-bound bridge, including concrete barriers, deck repairs, waterproofing, drainage and paving. Its scope also included approach widening, overhead signs, a Burlington Lift Bridge notification system and lighting improvements.
Alliance Verdi Civil was the contractor, with AECOM providing construction administration and oversight for MTO. Construction began in May 2024.
Completion notice has no precise date
The homepage does not give the day work finished. It still displays an older forecast of completion in December 2026 beneath the new completion notice. This report records the notice as verified October 22, rather than assigning that date to the construction itself.
The project site directs motorists to Ontario 511 for current traffic impacts from this and other contracts.
