Brad Stapleton has ended his campaign for Hamilton’s Ward 9 council seat and endorsed incumbent Brad Clark, CHCH reported October 23.

CHCH quoted an October 22 Facebook statement in which Stapleton said he did not see a route to victory. He praised Clark’s experience and said he would keep advocating for residents and scrutinizing council regardless of Monday’s result.

The City of Hamilton’s certified-candidate page, checked October 23, still lists Stapleton alongside Clark, Abhijeet Gill, Jonathan Stathakos and Eileen Walker. The reported campaign decision should not be read as confirmation that his name has been removed from election materials.

Hamilton’s municipal election is October 26.
