(Binbrook, Canada) - The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board has provincial permission to seek construction bids for its planned Binbrook secondary school, CHCH reported October 28.
The report puts Ontario’s investment at $63.3 million for a two-storey building at 2655 Fletcher Road, accommodating more than 1,000 students. It says tendering is expected in the coming weeks, with students arriving in late 2028 or early 2029.
That is a procurement milestone, not an announcement that a construction contract has been awarded or the school has opened.
The project predates this approval. Councillor Mark Tadeson’s May 21, 2025 planning update described the proposed Catholic secondary school near Binbrook and Fletcher roads and a community open house. That earlier account provides planning context, rather than confirmation of today’s tender status.
