(Windsor, Canada) – Windsor Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect after an alleged sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy on Hall Avenue.

Police say officers were called to the 1200 block shortly before 6:30 p.m. October 28. Investigators allege an unknown man approached the child and touched him inappropriately while the boy tried to resist. The man then left on foot, heading west on Ottawa Street.

The service’s October 29 appeal says investigators obtained surveillance footage showing the suspect walking with a distinctive gait. AM800 published police-released images accompanying the appeal.

Police describe the suspect as a Black man, about 40 years old and six feet tall, with a slender build. They say he wore a black trench-style coat, blue jeans, black shoes with white soles, a dark baseball cap and white sunglasses.

Anyone with information can contact Windsor Police’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 519-255-6700, extension 4903, quoting case 26-121096. The person pictured has not been publicly identified; the allegations have not been proven in court.
