SINGAPORE — Max Verstappen claimed his first Singapore Grand Prix victory Sunday, October 11, while Canada's Lance Stroll left the race without points after retiring his Aston Martin.

Verstappen finished the 62-lap race 7.335 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli took third, 24.573 seconds behind the winner, according to Formula One's official classification.

A milestone win for Verstappen

The victory came on Verstappen's 250th Grand Prix start and was the 73rd win of his career. Formula One's race report says he led throughout, even as radio trouble forced Red Bull to communicate using a pit board.

The FIA describes a one-stop race for Verstappen, who changed from soft to medium tyres on lap 33 and kept the lead. Leclerc and Antonelli made second stops during a later Virtual Safety Car period.

Antonelli secured the last podium place in the closing stages after overtaking Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton. Norris finished fourth, ahead of McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri; Hamilton was sixth.

Stroll's afternoon ends early

Stroll completed 36 laps before retiring. Formula One attributed the stoppage to a suspected clutch problem; the result sheet lists him as not classified. Teammate Fernando Alonso finished 16th, leaving Aston Martin outside the points.

George Russell and Isack Hadjar recovered to ninth and tenth respectively. The series next heads to the United States Grand Prix, scheduled for October 23–25.
