INTERNATIONAL — MARKET UPDATE — The yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury reached 5.342 per cent Thursday, its highest level since early 2002, Reuters reported.
The move surpassed the benchmark’s 2007 peak as selling pressure in bond markets intensified. Reuters also reported that the third quarter produced the largest quarterly rise in the yield this century.
The figure is an intraday high reported Thursday morning, not a closing yield. Market levels can change during the trading session.
