INTERNATIONAL — U.S. and Iraqi officials announced Wednesday that the last American forces had left Iraqi bases, Reuters reports. The departure fulfils a 2024 agreement.

Iran separately said it had received Washington’s response to its latest Gulf ceasefire proposal through Qatari mediation. No new agreement was announced.
