(Ottawa, Canada) – Ottawa Senators forward Hayden Hodgson has been suspended for two games without pay for boarding Los Angeles Kings defenceman Brandt Clarke.
The NHL's Department of Player Safety said the incident happened at 11:10 of the second period during the Senators' October 29 game in Los Angeles.
Hodgson received a major boarding penalty and a game misconduct during the game. The two-game suspension is a subsequent league disciplinary decision, separate from those penalties.
The NHL said Hodgson will forfeit $8,762.88 under the collective bargaining agreement, based on his average annual salary. That money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
