(Toronto, Canada) - RBC says third-party personal AI agents will no longer be able to connect directly to its authenticated digital services, including online banking.
In an October 27 notice, the bank cited risks to customers’ information and finances as increasingly autonomous tools seek access to online accounts.
RBC says customers can still use its official website, mobile app and the bank’s own digital features. Existing connections through outside personal AI agents will stop working.
The restriction concerns third-party access to protected banking services. It does not describe a blanket ban on customers using AI for other tasks.
