(Moscow, Russia) - Moscow has been selected to host the 2030 senior world weightlifting championships, the International Weightlifting Federation announced on Sunday, October 25.
The federation’s executive board awarded four championships spanning 2028 through 2030. Ahmedabad, India, received the 2029 senior event.
Youth and junior hosts also chosen
Prishtina, Kosovo, will stage the 2028 world youth championships, while Caracas, Venezuela, will host that year’s world junior championships.
IWF general secretary José Quiñones said the bids demonstrated international interest in staging the sport’s competitions. The federation said Kosovo, Venezuela and India would each be hosting an IWF world event for the first time.
