(Hamilton, Canada) – Ontario college lacrosse sixes reached its first championship day in Ancaster on Sunday, November 1, with Mohawk College hosting four colleges, CHCH reported from the event.

Mohawk’s advance announcement placed the tournament at Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School and listed the Mountaineers, Durham Lords, Fleming Phoenix and Humber Hawks as participants.

The competition was part of an exploratory exhibition season under the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association, rather than confirmation that lacrosse sixes had already become a full varsity sport.

Mohawk said the OCAA would review the season at its December directors’ meeting to assess that possibility. The college launched its program in 2023, with Humber following in 2025.
