HAMILTON — A woman has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon following an alleged stabbing at Juravinski Hospital on Monday night, according to CHCH’s report of information provided by Hamilton police.
CHCH reports that officers responded around 9:30 p.m. after a 71-year-old man was allegedly attacked in a waiting room. His stab wound was described as non-life-threatening and he was treated at the hospital.
Police say the two were strangers
The report says police identified the accused as a 23-year-old woman of no fixed address and said she did not know the man. She allegedly fled on foot and threatened a security guard before being arrested.
The available report does not identify the weapon or explain a motive. The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
