(Burlington, Canada) – November 1 is Joseph Brant Hospital’s announced launch date for Dovetale, an Epic-based digital health information system shared with St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
The hospital’s October 14 announcement describes the switch as the central milestone of Project Harmony. It says the shared platform is intended to give care teams at both hospitals more consistent access to patient information; benefits are expected to develop as staff adopt the system.
Allow time for the transition
Some hospital processes may take longer during the first days and weeks, JBH advises. Care continues during the transition, with trained support staff helping hospital teams. Patients with concerns about their experience should speak with their care team, the hospital says.
What patients can see online
The hospital’s MyDovetale FAQ says the patient portal can display available test results, appointment details and after-visit summaries. JBH information begins with care provided on or after November 1, 2026; older records will not automatically appear.
The FAQ also lists limits: JBH clinical notes and secure messaging with care teams are unavailable, and patients cannot schedule appointments themselves. Online cancellation is limited to Diagnostic Imaging appointments; other changes go through the clinic.
Patients who already use MyDovetale can keep their existing account, the hospital says.
