HAMILTON — The Fall Floral Mum Show opens Saturday, October 17, at Gage Park Greenhouse, giving residents nine days to visit the city's annual indoor chrysanthemum exhibition.

The city's current event information lists daily hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through October 25. The greenhouse is at 1000 Main Street East.

City horticulture staff say the display uses more than 200 chrysanthemum varieties and over 100,000 blooms grown on-site, spread across more than 20,000 square feet. Those are the organiser's figures, not an independent count.

Planning a visit

Published admission rates are $10 for adults and $8.50 for seniors and children aged six to 12. Children five and under enter free. A family admission covering two adults and two children is listed at $26.

The programme includes weekend children's activities, educational experiences, a café and a flower market. The organiser also offers guided school tours.

Parking is free; the linked ticket listing identifies the parking entrance off Lawrence Road. Visitors should check the ticket page for current booking details rather than assume a particular time or activity is available.

The city traces the show to 1920. This is a preview of this weekend's opening, not a claim that the dates were first announced today.
