HAMILTON — Search crews have found debris belonging to the missing Latitude Air Ambulance jet off the U.S. coast, according to an overnight Canadian Press update citing the U.S. Coast Guard.

The debris field was located about 150 kilometres southeast of Boston. The Coast Guard said the search for the six occupants continued, with cutter William Sparling leading overnight operations.

What changed overnight

The confirmation of debris is new since TNC’s initial report. The update does not establish the condition of those aboard or explain what happened to the aircraft.

The Hamilton-based company’s Gulfstream G100 disappeared during a flight from Bermuda to Boston early Saturday. The Canadian Press reports two Canadian pilots, two Canadian medical staff, a Bermudian patient and a family member were aboard.

Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon said Canadian authorities were monitoring the situation and working with search officials.
