(Toronto, Canada) - Construction will interrupt UP Express and change service on four GO train lines over Halloween weekend, October 31–November 1, according to the operators’ current notices.
Pearson airport connections
UP Express trains will not run. Replacement GO buses will travel directly between Union Station Bus Terminal and Pearson Airport Terminal 1, without serving Bloor, Mount Dennis or Weston.
On Friday, October 30, the last airport-bound train leaves Union at 11 p.m.; the last Union-bound train leaves Pearson at 11:39 p.m.
Four GO lines
- Lakeshore East: Trains run hourly between Durham College Oshawa GO and Union.
- Kitchener: Trains operate only between Mount Pleasant and Mount Dennis. Bloor has no GO service. Regular routes 30 and 33 provide connections from communities farther west; riders should use the official notice to choose their transfer.
- Barrie: Trains run between Allandale Waterfront/Aurora and Downsview Park, with no trains onward to Union. Most usual weekend trains are replaced by buses between Allandale Waterfront and Highway 407 Bus Terminal; TTC Line 1 provides the connection downtown.
- Stouffville: Remaining trains run between Old Elm and Union, with southbound departures from Old Elm/Mount Joy up to 27 minutes later. Most usual weekend trains are replaced by buses via Old Elm and Unionville, then directly to Union Station Bus Terminal. Those buses skip Milliken, Agincourt and Kennedy; the notice directs riders there to TTC.
Kitchener also has Friday-night changes, including cancellation of the 11:34 p.m. Union-to-Mount Pleasant train and a replacement bus via Bramalea.
Check the trip planner before leaving: replacement buses can have different departure times, and construction plans can change. These are planned service arrangements, not a report that the entire GO network is closed.
Official notices checked October 28: UP Express; Lakeshore East; Kitchener; Barrie; Stouffville.
