(Gatineau, Canada) - Employers can now apply for Canada Summer Jobs funding for 2027, with applications due December 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific, Employment and Social Development Canada announced Tuesday.

The intake covers eligible non-profit organizations, public-sector employers and private businesses with no more than 50 full-time employees.

Public and private employers can receive support equal to 50% of the provincial or territorial minimum wage. Non-profits can receive up to 100%, plus mandatory employment-related costs.

The program supports jobs for people aged 15 to 30. Positions must provide 30 to 40 hours a week for six to 16 consecutive weeks.

The deadline is for employers seeking funding, rather than young people applying for a specific vacancy. Funded jobs will appear on Job Bank.

Approval is not guaranteed: the department warns that eligible proposals may go unfunded or receive less support than requested. Employers should review the applicant guide before submitting through the Grants and Contributions Online Services portal.
