HAMILTON — Bo Levi Mitchell intends to return to the Tiger-Cats next season after a serious ankle injury interrupted his 2026 campaign.

The 36-year-old quarterback told ticats.ca that he and his family are excited about returning, according to a Wednesday report from The Canadian Press.

Mitchell was injured July 5 against Winnipeg, left the field on a cart and subsequently underwent surgery.

Hamilton’s struggles continued

The Tiger-Cats won two of their opening three games with Mitchell starting. Since his injury, Jake Dolegala, Tre Ford and Harrison Frost have each had opportunities at quarterback.

Mitchell completed 78.2 per cent of his passes over four games, throwing for 1,107 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception. Hamilton entered its upcoming Ottawa game with a 4–11 record and five straight losses.

His comments express an intention to return. The report does not establish a new contract announcement or medical clearance to play.
