(Victoria, Canada) – BC Ferries has launched an operational and service review alongside a leadership transition, putting the coastal transportation system’s performance at the centre of its next phase.
The company announced October 26 that Nicolas Jimenez had departed as president and chief executive. Brian Anderson, previously responsible for strategy and planning, is serving as interim chief executive.
Chief financial officer Dallyn Willis will lead the review and take on additional strategy and planning responsibilities. The company says the search for a permanent chief executive will follow the review.
BC Ferries described the work as a way to strengthen safe, reliable service while responding to growing demand. The announcement does not itself set a new fare schedule or announce specific sailing cuts.
For passengers, the immediate development is therefore a review of the organization and its service delivery. Any resulting changes to routes, schedules or prices would require further announcements; they should not be treated as settled outcomes of the leadership change.
