(Ottawa, ON) - Abu Dhabi’s crown prince will visit Ottawa October 26–27 for talks on expanding Canada’s partnership with the United Arab Emirates, the Prime Minister’s Office announced Sunday.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Mark Carney are expected to discuss areas including defence, energy, critical minerals, infrastructure and advanced technologies.
Upcoming talks build on earlier agreements
The October 25 release says the countries concluded negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in July. Their separate investment-protection agreement entered into force in May.
The visit announcement describes further cooperation the governments intend to pursue. It does not establish that the scheduled meetings have occurred or that they have produced new agreements.
